Compendium is an optimistic way of seeing the world and that’s how we want to convey it; a celebration of skin, origins and idiosyncrasies.

Born in the Netherlands, but with their roots at the foot of the Anti-Atlas, Saïd & Mohamed Aboulasri have always been searching for the perfect balance between the Moroccan culture of slow living and the rapidly moving Western lifestyle.

From an early age on they helped their family harvesting argan nuts and experienced the path of trusting the process and working with the forces of nature. They learned that, when you listen to the pace of nature everything will always work out for the better.

Through their carefully developed products they’re trying to bring in a little bit of that mindset onto those who’re ready for change.

Compendium’s facial oils are perfectly suited to both men and women – perfect for a shared skincare routine. Embracing your bare skin, leaving it nourished and free to breath. Compendium focusses on creating honest skincare products through working with all nature has to offer.

Our oils go skin deep. Together with botanist and perfumer Barnabé Fillion we’ve created three remarkable forumlas, made of cold pressed face oils, infused with 100% natural botanical absolutes and essences. Barnabé Fillion carefully curated elements that blend exquisitely in scents and in their working ingredients.

Compendium is our doorway to reveal ancient beauty rituals discovered in different regions in the world a long time ago. Working solely with partners that carry the same mindset of calmness, the right ethics and a small scale production. We learn their secret recipes, borrow that wisdom to create the most beautiful skincare products and give back to them areas by investing in their nature.

Next to the Atlas Mountains we found more tree species to work with in the Sous valley of Morocco and the Nagpur region of India. This resulted in this first drop of three botanical face oils. We’ve spent five years searching for the perfect ingredients, formulas and learning every single detail behind the development of natural skincare.

Unlike most brands that use synthetic ingredients to ensure the longest expiration date, we’re keen on using only natural ingredients to keep our range of products as clean as it can. We strive for the highest quality and most performance driven skincare products you can find.

CHERISH & WORK WITH THE FORCE OF NATURE

Stretched over 2.500 km across Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia – the Atlas Mountains is home not only to Compendium’s creators and family but also the home of many of our ingredients. Harvested with care by hand.

In Morocco we learned to trust the process of nature. There is no need to adjust as nature will find its way. Although it may appear as if everything is more organized in the west, it’s not necessarily true. In the age-old way of working with nature, the process isn’t set in stone, it moves organically. Handed down from generation to generation.

Growing and harvesting natural products is a slow process that honors the pace of nature. The scarcity of our ingredients and nature’s own pace created a deeply rooted respect for time and processes. There are no shortcuts.

We buy raw materials at the source as much as possible, using local hands and knowledge to promote economic development and fair pricing. Working with natural ingredients also means taking climate conditions into account.

We believe that there’s no other way than work with the elements nature provides you and we cherish those dynamics.
